"Stay where you are and no one will get hurt." Muttered a voice on the phone. Angela just got a phone call and decided to answer it because she didn't know who it was. "Who are you? You can't tell me what to do!" Angela screamed. "Oh yes I can. Just watch." All of a sudden every window in her apartment were blocked by black shades. Angela screamed in terror and ran into her bedroom closet. Footsteps were close near by. She hid under blankets in the closet and prayed he would not find her. The front door slammed shut and there was silence. Angela waited a whole ten minutes until she crawled out of the closet. She didn't know why this man was trying to contact her or what he planned to do. There was nothing else she could do so she laid on her bed and cried.
Angela woke up to the phone ringing. She was shaking and thought what if it is the same man again. Angela picked up the phone. "Hello Angela, you might have got away with it this time, but now I know your whole schedule and your work hours. You can't hide from me." The phone dropped to the ground with a crash. Angela packed a bag of everything she needed and headed out the back door. She got in her car and drove down her street, glancing at everything she saw to make sure the man was not here. Angela didn't see the stop sign and slammed on her brakes.
The next thing she knew she was in the hospital with tubes all on her and machines all around her. "What happened?" She questioned herself, but someone else answered. "You hit a pickup truck when u ran the stop sign but luckily you only broke your arm, but no one else got hurt." She looked at her arm and shrugged. It'll heal she thought. "Who did I hit? Oh great, more bills I have to pay for." A tall old man walked in the room. "You hit me." She almost fainted. She recognized that voice. It was the guy that was on the phone.
"Don't be afraid, I did that call to scare you so you would stay in the house, but that didn't work." She shuddered at the thought of that phone call. "Who are you then?" The man sighs. "Your father."
"No! You can't be!" Angela screamed so loud, that some doctors looked at her to make sure shes okay. "Angela, yes I am. I know everything about you. I know I left when you were young. But I had to leave because of my job and your kids were so happy where you were, I just left one day. I'm sorry, I should have never done that." She couldn't believe it was really him. "Then why did you keep calling me?" He breathed a heavy sigh. "Well I thought maybe you would stay where you were and we could talk. I'm so sorry, this is all my fault." She looked into her eyes and believed him. Those were his eyes she remembered sparkling every night when he tucked her in to go to sleep." I'll be fine. I'm just glad your back."
Great story! I like how you added the twist of the man being her father; that was totally unexpected! Well done!
