Gun shots everywhere. People rushing by in different directions. Trying to find a way out of the fight but cannot. My mama told me to close my eyes, so I don't see the bad things. I did. This scene in the movie the Blind Side is really what the movie is all about. A little boy grew up in fights and people taking away his home. His mom had too many kids. So she gave him away. When he got older, he wanted to find his mama. He didn't have a home or even any place warm. He would go to the gym or even to the laundry mat to wash his one other pair of clothes in his bag. That's all he had. But one day he was at school and he met a little boy. They were friends. Another day the little boy's mom found the older boy on the street walking. He was going to go find somewhere warm. From that day, the little boy's mom adopted the older boy so he could have a home and finally a family to take care of him. Little conflicts happen but he knows that everything will be ok because he finally had someone who loved him.
I really liked this movie. It was really touching and to see what some people go through, it was horrible. But the movie was amazing. Maybe I'll help out a child in need someday too.

Spngebob
Spongebob is very fun
So fun that I will never be done
His buck teeth are the best
There as big as a desk!
His snail is named Gary
Just like Perry
Who is Fineas and Ferb's pet
Who always gets caught in a net
But even though perry is cute
Spngebob is always the foot to my boot
I love him so very much
But I've always wondered if he's Dutch......

Literary Analysis Of Mary Poppins
Think about if you had a magical nanny and all the extraordinary things you would do with her. What would you do? This is exactly what happened in “Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers”. Everything is happy and joyful, all throughout the movie. It clearly shows that this movie is a romance by the symbolism, plot line and characteristics.
Symbolism in this movie is just right for the romantic literature. The time of day was shown many times throughout the movie. It was either morning or day time throughout the movie. Because of the Blossom trees or the birds chirping throughout the movie, it showed that there was tons of joy and laughter throughout the movie. You would always know that everyone is upbeat by all the singing and dancing. One of my favorite parts was when the penguins were dancing with Mary Poppins and Bert. That really showed that nature and animals were a big part of the movie.
While symbolism really showed why the movie was a romance, the plot line of the movie fit exactly to the romance plot line. In the beginning of the movie a nanny quits because she couldn’t handle the little kids anymore. So the family tries to find a new nanny. This really reminds me of a T.V. show I watched that the same thing happened to that family. I could feel their pain and worry that they weren’t going to find another nanny. All of a sudden Mary Poppins comes in and takes the job! Mary Poppins changes everyone into very pleasant people than they were. Mr. Banks especially got to be a completely different person.
Although the plot line fit perfectly into the romantic mode of literature, the characteristics were absolutely matching the same characteristics as a romance. “Mary Poppins” was defiantly not realistic. The flying, magic and basically doing anything is usually not what happens in real life. If it did, that would be really cool and interesting, but unfortunately it’s just a fantasy vision. Mary Poppins, which is the main character, never does anything wrong. She’s in control so how can she do something wrong? She controls the kids by making them go to bed or even just protecting them. She makes everything better! In this movie evil is weak and good is very strong and powerful. Mary Poppins is the good which when she almost gets fired, she concurs it and makes sure she doesn’t. It feels like she can accomplish anything and everyone is joyful at the end, which is mostly how everything seems better than it really is.
The symbolism, characteristics and plot line really showed that this movie was a romantic piece of literature. How amazing would that be if you had a nanny that could do all those things? Everything would be so much easier and calmer. That’s why this movie is getting you to escape just from all your troubles and just think of how peaceful, but exciting everything would be.

Favorite Type of Food
Chinese food is very good
Some people say it tastes like wood
But I would highly disagree
Because sometimes its free
I don't like egg rolls,
But it is my goal
Orange chicken is the best
If you don't believe me put it to the test!

Thanksgiving Break!
For thanksgiving break my family and I went to St. Paul Minnesota and Wisconsin Dells. We had a blast! In Minnesota we stayed at my aunts and uncle's house. My sister and I started baking with my aunt right away to get all the desserts done! We had so much to do before it was Thanksgiving! We baked and baked, we had tons of desserts made by the next day. In the morning on Thanksgiving we went to Thanksgiving Brunch, which was really our dinner. There was a huge buffet with yummy desserts and great food! But I was saving up for our desserts we made. When it was finally time to have desserts at our aunts house, my whole dads side of the family came! It was great to get to see all my cousins and even my new baby cousin that my cousin just had. I loved it. The next day we left for the Dells. My sister and I had a indoor softball tournament! We were extra excited and thought we could win the whole thing! We won both games on Friday and both games on Saturday. Sunday was the Championships. We beat the first team but then, we played the last game of the tournament and we lost. We were really sad, but we played great and had a lot of fun! We each got a 2nd place trophy. During that weekend we also went to the water park at The Wolf Lodge. It was fantastic since I never had been to the Dells, I was really excited to see the ginormous water parks I heard about. My whole family had tons of fun on this trip and hope to come back to both places once again.

Where do I belong? By Kennedi Bates
Where do I belong?
By: Kennedi Bates
It was a windy day when the man crossed the road and when into the bus station. He didn’t know what bus he should take or even where he was going, but all he knew was that he had to get far away from here. Then he made his decision. A bus that said Atlanta Airport on the top of it approached and stopped at the station. The man looked at the house he had just come from across the street, waved goodbye and got on the bus.
When he got on the bus he paid and sat down in the back. He made sure the bus driver wasn’t paying attention, and then he took off his coal black hat, his brown fake mustache, and his fake glasses he had found in his room. Wait, he thought, his old room. The man was really a young boy, 14 years old to be exact, named Tom.
Tom looked around in his old backpack he brought and found his money he brought. One hundred and twenty seven dollars in cash and his emergency credit card he had gotten from his former parents last Christmas. All of a sudden the bus stopped, and when he looked out he was at the airport. Tom picked up his stuff, trying to figure out if he really wanted to run away or if he would just go home to his family. He got off the bus.
Tom didn’t have any another choice but to run away. He was an orphan that kept getting passed from family to family never having somewhere to call home. But this time it was different, the people he had left were wonderful and friendly. They were always treating him like family, but then something happened. Those parents got divorced and eventually they didn’t know what to do with him, so they said that they were giving him to an orphanage. Tom didn’t want to go back to the orphanage, not ever again, so he had to leave.
He was going to find his birth parents. Tom knew that they lived in Chattanooga, Tennessee, because that was all the orphanage lady could tell him. He looked at the flights to Tennessee; there was one leaving in an hour and a half. The boy’s body filled up with joy and went over to the Information Desk to buy a ticket. The ticket was three hundred dollars. He looked at the price again and made sure his eyes weren’t messing with him. They weren’t.
He sighed and got out his credit card. After he bought the ticket, he went on the train to the gates. Tom looked at the gate number on the ticket, A18. He found the gate and sat down and waited for the attendant to call his zone. Finally she called his zone. He got up, gave the attendant his ticket and boarded the plane.
The plane finally took off. Tom was used to flying. He did it all the time, flying place to place, family to family. Tom got some cookies and ginger ale when they served snacks. He never figured out how hungry he was until he finally ate something. After that the pilot announced that we were arriving in a moment. Tom couldn’t even talk, he was so excited. He got his backpack and got off the plane once it landed. Tom didn’t have any baggage but he followed the Baggage Claim signs, so he could get a taxi to Chattanooga.
The taxi driver looked at him weird when he said Chattanooga, which confused Tom. He looked up at the airport sign. His heart stopped. He had bought the wrong ticket! The airport sign said Welcome to Tampa, Florida! Tom was in Florida! “Noooooooooooooooo,” yelled Tom at the top of his lungs. He got out of the taxi and went to the Information Desk to tell them what happened. He couldn’t believe he got on the wrong flight! As Tom approached the Information Desk, he looked outside. He totally lost track of time. It was all ready pitch dark out! The lady at the Information Desk told him that there weren’t any more flights until tomorrow morning, but he did have to pay for the next flight if he wanted to go to his birth parents. Tom couldn’t believe this. He sat down on one of the chairs and cried himself to sleep.
When he awoke it was morning. Well 5:00 a.m. The flight was boarding in ten minutes! He had to get that ticket! Tom went and bought the ticket. It cost more than before, but he had to buy it. When the plane started boarding he ran and got in line. The plane ride was short, surprisingly. When he got off he made sure the airport said Welcome to Chattanooga, Tennessee. It did! He was here! Tom could sense that his parents were here, he knew it.
When he went and got a taxi, he was overjoyed. The old taxi driver said that Chattanooga was not too far from the airport. He told the taxi driver the address he found to his parents on the internet. As they rode along, he thought of all he would tell him and how happy they would be to see him. Finally they arrived at the house. It was a new house, just made that year. Tom looked at it, examining ever inch. He paid the driver, got out and rang the door bell.
A lady that had the same freckles as him and same color hair opened the door. “Mom,” he asked. “Tommy?” She asked. It was her. They hugged, both crying. His dad came over and didn’t really know what was going on. “Robert, it’s him.” They all went into the house and talked for hours. Tom’s parents said they had to give him up at the time, because they couldn’t take care of him. They had always loved him, he’d always known that. Tom had a family and a home now. He finally found where he belonged.

Journal Piece
One day in Florida, when I was on vacation, my family and I were on the beach in the morning. We were enjoying the beautiful beach when out of no where came a huge thunderstorm. We grabbed all our stuff and ran to the hotel on the beach that we were staying at. My mom and dad left the pop up tent out there because they didn’t think it would be that bad of a storm and it would just pass over. Unfortunately it didn't, well not before the tent started blowing down the beach shore. My dad rushed out to go get it. There was lightning everywhere and thunder as frighting as a tiger. All of a sudden we heard a screeching crack and the lightning struck the tent, which struck my dad.
Three Facts and a Fiction
My dad got struck by lightning and lived.
My old house had a tree fall on it.
My best friend has a horse.
I used to have a 2 fish.

Cheerleading
I just started to cheerlead this year. In my old school we didn't have a football team for our grade so we couldn't have a cheerleading squad. But, when I moved here I wanted to try cheerleading for a season and see if I like it. I did! I love to cheer now and do different stunts, supporting our football team. Every cheersquad has different groups in it. In my group I have Rhiannon as our flyer, Kaitlin and I as bases and Peyton as our back. We do really cool and different stunts in our group. Rhiannon is really light and skinny so we can do more stunts because we don't have to hold as much weight. Last week was my last cheerleading game. I won't be here for this Saturday's one, so last week was my ending cheerleading game. I had tons of fun with everyone and met a lot of new friends. I plan on doing it next year and hope to get better at it.

Shopping
Every year when I was little on my birthday or before my birthday, I went on a huge shopping spree with my Nana. We would go to Limited Too and Justice and when I was really little we went to Build-A-Bear. I would have so much fun, getting mostly everything I wanted. My Nana would always save up money for this trip. After we were done shopping we would go to the food court and get slushies, which were always a tradition, and something else special. I would always look forward to this day, but one year my Nana didn't take us. We stopped going on that trip, which I didn't understand when I was little, but I do now.

Patriots Essay
Does Patriotism still matter?
By: Kennedi Bates
Boom! Boom! The shots of the guns were so loud, almost like there was someone yelling in your ear every second. Everywhere men are falling to the ground, screaming in pain. This was war; this was what it felt like to be fighting for your country. All of a sudden a grenade gets thrown at the ground, planning to blow up tons of men, but a certain man could not let that happen. He threw himself over the grenade, saving other men from dying, saying goodbye to his family. Without a doubt, Patriotism still matters because when people love and fight for their country, they will always somehow never lose.
A part of patriotism is to keep your country save and not give up on your country. If you don’t care about your country, then why are you in that specific country? Besides, without patriotism all the countries would fail. There is still Patriotism in different countries, but sometimes not as much as there used to be. We will never lose if we care about our country and try to make it better.
Even though caring about your country is important, fighting for it is exactly the same but you involve war. A lot of people that are in the army, air force or navy seals are all willing to fight for their country and die for it. Throughout time people in the army get killed every day for their country. But, you have to believe that you can win and that your country will succeed. War and fighting is a big part of Patriotism.
Even though fighting and war is a big part in Patriotism, you have to love your country to be patriotic. If you don’t love your country and be loyal to your country, a lot of the time you’re giving up on your country which eventually turns into failure. Patriotism is everything, even if it means helping your country’s environment or just helping out. Besides patriotism doesn’t all have to be about war or fighting, you just need to believe in your country and help it.
Overall when you’re fighting and are loyal to your country, you can never lose. Thousands of men die every year from battle. Since they are willing to die for their country, they will never give up. But, Patriotism doesn’t all have to be about war. You just have love your country and fight for it.
